Riverside County COVID-19 Update: Hospitalizations, Death Toll
A week-over-week comparison of the figures.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County's COVID-19 hospitalizations have fallen over the last week by more than 40 patients, while the reported death toll increased by nearly 60.
According to the Riverside University Health System, COVID-19-related hospitalizations countywide dropped to 305, compared to 347 patients a week ago. The number of ICU patients Friday also dropped, totaling 85, compared to 99 seven days ago.
RUHS said the total number of COVID cases recorded since the public health documentation period began in March 2020 is 357,306, up by 2,682 since last Friday.

Officials said a total of 5,063 deaths from virus-related complications have been recorded since the pandemic began, up by 59 people over the last week. The fatalities, however, are trailing indicators because of delays processing death certificates and can go back a month, sometimes longer.
Riverside County residents 12 and older who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 stood at 58.8 percent Friday.
