'Serious Injuries' Reported as Temecula Man Attacks Woman at CVS Store: Police

Sheriff's officials say the man was held back by store personnel until authorities arrived on scene.

Temecula, CA— A 31-year-old Temecula man was arrested on assault charges after he attacked a woman in line at a local drug store, sheriff's officials said Tuesday.

It happened at the CVS Pharmacy on Rancho California Road at 5:11 p.m. Monday, according to Sgt. Raymond Huskey.

"Officers arrived and found a female suffering from serious injuries," Huskey said in a press release. "Store personnel detained the suspect and he was taken into custody by officers without incident."

When police got there, they arrested Brian Eldon Saylor on suspicion of attempted murder.

Right now, it's still unclear what, if anything, may have occurred prior to the attack.  It's also not clear if the man knew the woman.

Jail records indicate Saylor was booked into the Murrieta jail in lieu of $1 million bail.  He's due in court on Thursday.
