Southbound I-15 Injury Crash Blocks Traffic From Temecula To San Diego County

An early morning collision has stalled the southbound commute from Temecula. Here's what happened.

TEMECULA, CA — A multi-car injury collision on southbound I-15 just south of State Route 76 has stalled traffic through Temecula, California Highway Patrol reported Thursday morning.

Just after 5:30 a.m., three vehicles collided in the fast lane for unidentified reasons: a Ford F-150, a Toyota Prius and a gray Hyundai Elantra, according to dispatch operators.

The first collision sparked a secondary crash just north of Rainbow Valley Road.

At least two patients were transported to area hospitals for treatment, while two others were checked out at the initial crash scene.

Tow trucks have been busy at work clearing lanes, and lanes reopened as of 7:15 a.m.
