The 134-unit project will be the second phase of the existing 160-unit Rendezvous Apartment community at 30135 Rancho California Road.

TEMECULA, CA — Seven apartment buildings will likely be built along the south side of Rancho California Road, following approvals Tuesday night during the regularly scheduled Temecula City Council meeting.
With unanimous votes, council members paved the way for the new 134-unit complex on 7.61 acres near Cosmic Drive. The project will be the second phase of the existing 160-unit Rendezvous Apartment community at 30135 Rancho California Road.
The new project consists of six, three-story residential buildings; one two-story building with an enclosed garage on the first floor and residential units on the second floor; and 17 garage buildings. There will be 56 one-bedroom units that range in size from 651 square feet to 779 square feet; 42 two-bedroom units from 1,163-1,257 square feet; and 36 three-bedroom units ranging from 1,341 square feet to 1,431 square feet, according to city documents.

The design will be the same as the existing Rendezvous Apartment complex, according to the city.
Main traffic access to the new market-rate apartments will be on Rancho California Road, as well as via an existing private drive directly to the west of the project. Two-hundred-and-eighty parking spaces will be built, according to city documents.

The project developer is Temecula-based Rendezvous Multi-Family LP, which is associated with Rendezvous Apartments. In November 2020, the city approved a planning application that amended the zoning on the new project site from "professional office" to "medium density residential." A representative for Rendezvous Multi-Family LP told the council Tuesday night that changes in the market landscape prompted the decision to ditch a commercial/professional office project at the site.
All five Temecula City Council members were present for Tuesday's meeting, and all cast yes votes on items pertaining to the project.
