Temecula To Celebrate Indian Culture

TEMECULA, CA ̶ Families are invited to join the Temecula Valley Museum for a Second Saturday Cultural Celebration of India on March 14, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. March is a great month to observe Indian culture as Holi festivities take place all over India, and within Indian communities throughout the United States. Holi festivals celebrate the arrival of spring, goodwill, and features dancing, singing, and throwing powdered paint and colored water. The Temecula Valley Museum will join in this colorful celebration with food, entertainment, art, and craft activities.

This event includes tasty samples of traditional Indian cuisine by Curry Leaf Indian Grill and several types of Indian tea. Post about all the #TemeculaFun with festive photos in front of the Taj Mahal photo wall, and the exciting Indian dance performance taking place in Sam Hicks Monument Park. The event also includes a large game of Snakes and Ladders, which originated in India, and a Henna artist for any guests who would like to try traditional temporary body art.

Bigfoot Art Classes will teach guests to create a multi-media masterpiece of an Asian elephant upstairs in the Museum’s Art and Education Room. While waiting for this complimentary art class, guests will be entertained with puppeteering by Don Smith, or get creative by making crafts such as painted people, a colorful collage, and a Pankha (hand fan).

Second Saturdays are part of the Temecula Valley Museum’s educational and cultural offerings for the community, celebrating the history and heritage of the various and diverse cultures that make up the Temecula Valley.
