TEMECULA, CA — The popular Big Horse Corn Maze and Harvest Festival is back in 2023, and the corn is growing high and tall.

The Big Horse Corn Maze and Fall Festival in south Temecula is an annual fall bucket-list visit, according to many families whose kids have grown up running its trails. Eager youngsters grab tall flags and navigate through the intricate turns and twists of the elaborate maze. Sometimes, they make it. Sometimes, they get lost and need help getting out. Regardless, those memories last a lifetime.

However, in 2022, the Big Horse Corn Maze was forced to cancel due to heat and drought that stunted the corn's growth and left the plants "about hip high," according to Corona. The maze also closed in 2020 during the pandemic.

With record rains in the valley over the growing season in 2023 there was no chance of closure. The corn stalks have grown tall for this year's patriotic-themed maze.

Larger groups, like scout troops and schools, should make advanced reservations, but families can drop in and visit any time during the fall.

The Corona family touts the 11-acre maze grown behind the Big Horse store as "the largest" in Southern California.
