Temecula Gas Prices Holding Steady

The average price of fuel in the Inland Empire had been on the rise lately.

A stretch of 32 increases in 34 days ended Thursday when the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire was unchanged, remaining at $2.83.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties rose 50.8 cents over the previous 34 days, including six-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose 10 consecutive days, was unchanged March 7, increased each of the next 13 days and was unchanged again March 21.

The average price is 5.6 cents more than one week ago and 40.2 cents higher than one month ago.

However, it is 38 cents less than one year ago because the price dropped 71.3 cents during a stretch of 48 decreases in 49 days that immediately preceded the run of rising prices.

The average price dropped to its lowest amount since April 27, 2009, before the increases began on Feb. 26.
