Temecula Hit-And-Run Driver Sought, Major Injuries Reported
Deputies are searching for Temecula resident Domingo Cruz, 40.

TEMECULA, CA — A driver who ran a red light, crashed into a Jeep, and caused major injuries to a motorist in Temecula is being sought by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies are searching for Temecula resident Domingo Cruz, 40, who is described by the sheriff's department as Hispanic, 5-feet-7-inches tall, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. A photo of Cruz has not be released by the sheriff's department.
Tuesday's hit-and-run crash was reported at 2:51 p.m. on Rancho California Road at the I-15. Cruz ran a red light while heading west on the roadway and broadsided a black Jeep Patriot that was making left turn from the I-15 southbound off-ramp onto Rancho California Road, according to the sheriff's department.

Cruz was driving a green Toyota pickup truck, which was found abandoned at the intersection. He fled the scene on foot, according to the sheriff's department.
The Jeep driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, the sheriff's department reported.

The sheriff's Southwest Station’s Traffic Team is actively looking for Cruz, who has a warrant for his arrest on this case. Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Frank Opice at the Southwest Sheriff Station, 951-696-3000.
