Temecula Lands April Fool's Joke About Infamous Intersection, Hundreds Respond
An April 1 Facebook update from the city touting the construction of a massive roundabout at Winchester and Ynez roads was all laughs.

TEMECULA, CA — The city of Temecula takes its traffic woes seriously, investing millions of dollars in infrastructure fixes.
But an April 1 Facebook update from the city touting the construction of a massive roundabout at Winchester and Ynez roads was all laughs.
"BIG NEWS, Temecula!' the post began. "We’re excited to announce that construction will soon begin on California’s LARGEST roundabout right here in Temecula, at the intersection of Winchester Rd & Ynez Rd by the Promenade Mall."

Discerning readers figured the ruse was up as the post continued on about easing traffic congestion and creating "smooth flow" through the area.
"So get ready for 4 lanes of 'I think this is my exit', optional bonus laps for when you miss your turn, & a chance to practice community bonding as you all patiently navigate the new roundabout together," the joke continued.
