Burglars Smashed Glass Cases To Steal Jewelry From Temecula Mall Store

Hammer-wielding suspects wreaked havoc on a jewelry shop inside Promenade Mall over the weekend.

TEMECULA, CA — Two suspects armed with hammers shattered glass cases and swiped jewelry from a store inside Promenade Temecula Mall over the weekend, Riverside County Sheriff's Department investigators said.

At 5 p.m. Friday, Southwest Station deputies arrived at the scene at the 40800 block of Winchester Road in Temecula after the reported smash-and-grab burglary. Two suspects fled before they arrived, and no shooting occurred during the incident, according to Sgt. Josh Hephner.

"Suspects used hammers to smash glass display cases and steal an undetermined amount of jewelry," Hephner said.

No injuries were reported during the burglary.
