Temecula Man Killed In Jurupa Valley Crash

Hector Salgado Nava, 36, struck a tree in the compact car he was driving and died at the scene, according to the sheriff's department.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — The coroner's bureau has identified the Temecula motorist who crashed into a tree early Tuesday in Jurupa Valley and died from his injuries.

Hector Salgado Nava, 36, died about 40 minutes after the 2:20 a.m. solo-vehicle crash on Mission Boulevard, just west of the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway on-ramp, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.

Sgt. Luke Torres said the victim was at the wheel of a compact car when he apparently lost control and plowed into a tree along the roadside.

Paramedics arrived within a few minutes and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

"At this time, it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision," Torres said.

No other vehicles were involved.
