Temecula is Part of Musician's Attempt to Break World Record
Musician Scott Helmer will try to perform the most concerts in a 24-hour period.
By City News Service:
Musician Scott Helmer’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most concerts in a 24-hour period will include a stop in Temecula, the city announced.
The attempt will kick off Nov. 30 in San Diego, spanning 12 cities, with a stop at Temecula’s Community Recreation Center, located at 30875 Rancho Vista Road.
The concert is free of charge.
Other cities on the daylong tour include Hollywood, Las Vegas, Mesquite, St. George, Cedar City, Provo, Tooele, Logan, Ogden and the final stop in Salt Lake City.
The feat is also a charitable one, intended to raise $1 million for Camp Kostopulos, a Salt Lake City-based summer camp program for kids, teens and adults with disabilities or special medical needs.
“Camp K would like everyone to know that we dedicate this record attempt in hope to inspire people around the world to be more accepting of each other and their differences, and more supportive of one another,” said Mircea Divricean, Camp Kostopulos president and CEO.
The current Guinness record for most concerts in a 24-hour period in multiple cities is 10, performed by Hunter Hayes in May 2014.
“I have toured non-stop across America since 2012, performing hundreds of concerts each year for charity,” Helmer said. “Being able to help a charity like Camp K raise awareness and money, while breaking a Guinness World Records title at the same time is a very special combination. It’s a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity.”
