Temecula Police Announce Upcoming DUI Checkpoint
"Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, with officers checking drivers for proper licensing..."

TEMECULA, CA – Temecula police announced Tuesday an upcoming DUI/driver's license checkpoint in the city. The operation will be held Friday night, police said.
According to Sgt. Bill Pratt, the checkpoint will begin at 7:30 p.m. It will run until 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
"The deterrent effect of High Visibility Enforcement using both DUI checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols has proven to lower the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug impaired crashes," Pratt said in a news release. "Research shows that crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized proactive DUI operations are conducted routinely."
