Temecula Presents 'A Tribute To Heroes' Free Concert

This hero-themed, free concert will feature patriotic selections from composer John Williams, famous Sousa marches, and much more.

From the City of Temecula: The City of Temecula proudly presents Tribute To Heroes conducted by Music Director John Mario on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Temecula Civic Center Plaza (41000 Main Street).

This hero-themed, free concert will feature patriotic selections from composer John Williams, famous Sousa
marches, as well as music from popular action films such as Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Mission
Impossible, plus highlights from South Pacific and more! The Temecula Valley Symphony will also perform
Fanfare for Life, composed by Kimo Williams, a Vietnam Veteran, with the selection sponsored in part by the
United States Veterans Arts Program (usvap.org) which provides arts resources to veterans. A special guest
vocalist (to be announced) will join the Symphony for this concert.

City of Temecula Mayor Matt Rahn states, “This performance will be the fourth in our partnership with the
Temecula Valley Symphony. By offering this concert at Town Square in the heart of Old Town Temecula, we
hope to provide a quality cultural experience to our citizens and visitors alike. The theme ‘Tribute To Heroes’
offers music that will appeal to all generations and the composition by a United States Vietnam Veteran will be an inspirational reminder of true heroism as families celebrate Memorial Day.”

The Temecula Valley Symphony is a 60-piece orchestra conducted by Music Director John Mario, an
internationally known conductor and opera coach. Per Alana Joos, Managing and Artistic Director, “We are
once again very excited to be presenting this special concert in collaboration with the City of Temecula and its
Community Services Department. Our diverse programming includes everything from the traditional classics,
to pops, and epic works from major motion pictures. We have built a loyal audience base by varying our
performances and our patrons know that no matter the theme, they will be inspired and entertained.”
