Late-October is a great time to pick up the biggest pumpkin possible at Temecula area pumpkin patches.

(Autumn Johnson/Patch)

TEMECULA, CA — Halloween is right around the corner, and time is almost up to get the best pumpkin at a local patch for Halloween.

Many Temecula families enjoy an annual trip to the pumpkin patch. Fields often have free activities such as corn mazes, hayrides and apple cider tastings.

Visiting an outdoor pumpkin field is moderately safe, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Before you go, it’s best to call ahead to the field or check its website for guidelines and hours of operation.
