“This event is still an absolute favorite for the Auto Mall,” said Ryan McCulloch, President of the Temecula Valley Auto Mall. “It’s awesome seeing familiar faces come back each time, along with new athletes and their families. We’re so proud to continue to support this event for the Temecula community.”
This year marked ten years for the growing city event. Many of the athletes in attendance Saturday had been participating since the Special Games’ inaugural competition in 2008. As a staple event in the community, the Games boasted 80 participants, and 120 adult and student volunteers.

“The Special Games is such a big day for our athletes. Many of them look forward to it all year long,” said Dawn Adamiak, Community Services Manager for the City of Temecula. “One of our athletes this year was three years old when she first joined us. Now she’s thirteen—I can hardly believe it. It’s an absolute privilege to watch them grow and come back each year.
