TEMECULA, CA- A man who police say came at them with a knife before he was shot down has been identified by the coroner's office.
The Riverside County Coroner's Office says 18-year-old Matthew Tucker died at Inland Valley Medical Center around 8 p.m. Wednesday-- about two and a half hours after he was shot by police.
The sheriff's department says Tucker was armed with a knife when they responded to a home on the 32000 block of Hislop Way in Temecula in reference to a 911 call.
"Officers made contact with a male in the garage who was armed with a knife," Sheriff's Deputy Mike Vasquez said. "During the contact, the male advanced towards the officers with the knife and an officer involved shooting occurred."
The circumstances which led up to the shooting are under investigation.
