Temecula Valley Teachers Ratify New Contract

Teachers have been working this school year with an expired contract.

Temecula Valley Educators Association (TVEA) members approved a tentative agreement with the Temecula Valley School District, the union announced Friday.

“This is a long awaited step forward for our members” said TVEA President Jeff Kingsberg. “Our Bargaining Team did a superb job of going out to the school sites and explaining the details related to the terms of the agreement”.

- A 3% Salary Increase Retroactive to July 1, 2014

- A 2% Salary Increase Effective January 1, 2015 pending Governor Brown proposing Local Control Funding Formula GAP Funding of at least 20.68%

- Protection of Class Size at State Ratios for Grades TK-3 progressing to 24:1 each year

- A Caseload Management Period for Special Education Teachers Grades 6-12

“This agreement is not only a positive for our members, but is good for the entire educational community of TVUSD” said Kingsberg. We look forward to greater mutual respect and understanding with the district to allow future negotiations to move more smoothly”.
