Donated blood will be sent to VA hospitals.

A blood drive to benefit three Southern California VA hospitals was being held today in Temecula, offering the public a chance to give back to former military members on Veterans Day.

In addition to blood, donors were also given the chance to write thank you messages to veterans to be delivered through Operation Gratitude, which sends care packages to troops deployed overseas.

Veterans and active-duty military members were also being provided a free all-you-can-eat meal during the daylong event, courtesy of the Pechanga Casino.
