Temecula's Own Savannah Banana Kelsie Whitmore Joins Team At Disneyland Resort
Kelsie Whitmore, a Temecula Valley High School graduate, enjoyed the day at Disneyland with her team, the Savannah Bananas.

TEMECULA, CA — Disneyland Resort went bananas Thursday, having an opening day of its own, bringing Banana Ball to Main Street. After playing at Petco Park this week, the team brought their signature energy for the one-day takeover of Disneyland Resort, right before battling the Indianapolis Clowns at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Friday and Saturday.
Fans cheered on the Savannah Bananas as they traveled in a cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A., and had the chance to meet some of their favorite players, including Temecula local Kelsie Whitmore, one of the few women who play Banana Ball.
She's a pitcher who has always played baseball, albeit with a short stint as a soccer goalkeeper at TVHS, and has shared in numerous interviews her journey from Major League Baseball to Banana Ball, loving every minute of it. She's living proof that girls really can do it all.

"I almost quit baseball (in 2025,) I was ready to be done. I've been on four different professional baseball teams and I thought I was done," she said after she signed with the Savannah Bananas. "Baseball is fun again. Little 6-year-old me would not say 'no' to this."
Now, Whitmore is playing in major league ballparks across the country and having a blast with the Banana Ball antics.

Thursday's trip to Disneyland was a major bonus.
"Look where we are, look how many young girls are in the stands and we can show them that girls can do anything at any level," she said.
Disneyland welcomed the players who entertained park guests with show-stopping performances in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Park and at Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure Park.
Of course, Disneyland chefs created a selection of banana-themed bites and drinks for the special day.
"Guests enjoyed a selection of banana-flavored bites and beverages available across the resort, along with a one-day-only merchandise pop-up at the Downtown Disney District with a variety of team merchandise for purchase," they said.
The Savannah Bananas visited as the resort celebrated its milestone 70th Celebration through the summer.
