Temecula's Population Grows to 109,064: State Report
New data shows population estimates for all of Riverside County. Temecula is among the most populous.
TEMECULA, CA- Temecula saw a net increase of approximately 1,200 residents over the last year, according to data released this week by the California Department of Finance.
The city's population grew in 2015 by 1.2 percent-- going from 107,794 on Jan. 1, 2015 to 109,064 at the start of 2016.
Overall, Riverside County's population increased 1.3 percent in 2015, with three cities landing in a "fastest-growing" category, according to data. The agency's annual population report showed that the countywide population totaled 2,347,828 at the start of 2016, compared to 2,317,924 on Jan. 1, 2015.

Riverside remained the county's most populous city with 324,696 residents. However, the 2015 population increase amounted to less than 1 percent.
According to the DOF, Eastvale was second on a list of the "10 Fastest-Growing Cities with Populations over 30,000," growing by 3.8 percent. The population of that city, which incorporated in 2010 -- the second youngest of the county's 28 cities -- grew to 63,162 residents, figures showed.

Beaumont had a 3.5 percent growth rate and 45,118 residents. Lake Elsinore had a 3.2 percent growth rate, while Murrieta's was 1.1.
In the Coachella Valley, Indio had the largest number of residents last year at 88,058, 1.6 percent more than a year earlier. La Quinta had the Coachella Valley's largest growth increase, 1.7 percent.
Indian Wells had the smallest population among the county's cities, 5,412 residents. Its population increased 1.4 percent last year.
Statewide, Los Angeles remained California's largest city, with just over 4 million residents. It's followed by San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco and Fresno to round out the top five most populous cities.
The state's population, increased 0.9 percent in 2015, reaching 39.256 million residents -- 348,000 more than the year before, according to state officials.
