Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Southwest Riverside
The weather service's radar detected a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and winds in excess of 60 mph.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for much of Southwest Riverside County on Wednesday afternoon.
The weather service’s radar detected a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and winds in excess of 60 mph.
“These storms were along a line stretching from Wildomar to San Jacinto,” the NWS said.

The storms are moving slowly north, northwest at 5 to 10 mph, according NWS.
The areas impacted include Hemet, Sun City, Valle Vista, Idyllwild-Pine Cove and Winchester.

Heavy rains flood roads quickly. The NWS recommends residents not to drive into areas where water covers the road.
“Turnaround, don’t drown,” the NWS said.
The thunderstorm warning is active until at least 3:15 p.m.
