TEMECULA, CA — A cold weather storm was expected to blow through the Inland Empire Saturday night through Monday, the National Weather Service has predicted. Along with it, residents can expect falling temperatures and breezy conditions. Mountain and Pass Area residents will see strong winds, they said.

The NWS released a high wind watch for the mountain areas of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties from Saturday night through Sunday afternoon, with rain predicted across the county Sunday and Monday.

High temperatures are expected to drop into the 50s through Wednesday, with nighttime temperatures dropping into the low 30s.

"Damaging winds would blow down trees and power lines," a weather spokesperson reported. "Widespread power outages are possible and travel could be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

The strongest winds would be Sunday over the ridges and onto the desert slopes, they said, reminding all to "fasten loose objects or shelter objects that could blow away in a safe location before the wind arrives."
