TEMECULA, CA — Though spring has not officially sprung in Temecula, no one told the flowers! In March, the bright purple dripping florals of wisteria are bursting with color at wineries across the valley.

"There are several places in the Temecula Valley where you can marvel at this stunning perennial vine, which makes a picture perfect backdrop for family or engagement photos and instagrammable moments," Norma Marlowe of Visit Temecula Valley said. The Wisteria sinensis is a woody vine that boasts grape-bunch-size blooms within the first five years of planting. They can live for a hundred years or more.

1. At South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, located at 34843 Rancho California Road, you'll find a glorious wisteria walkway in its full majesty in the coming weeks. The wisteria at South Coast Winery Resort is approximately 25 years old, at the winery that opened in 2001.

2. Somerset Winery, located at 37338 De Portola Road, offers a wisteria archway is exploding with blossoms. "This hidden gem adds a touch of natural beauty to the winery, making it a must-see spot while enjoying a wine tasting in Temecula Valley."

3. Ponte Vineyard Inn, located at 35001 Rancho California Road, offers wisteria that climbs the arbor of this resort hotel's property, creating a peaceful retreat.

4. Palumbo Family Vineyards and Winery, located at 40150 Barksdale Circle, offers wisteria that shades on a sunny day, with the heavenly honey-scented vines.

5. Robert Renzoni Vineyards, located at 37350 De Portola Road, offers a pergola topped with a mountain of wisteria, a beautiful spot for pictures as you enter or exit the Tuscan-style winery.

6. Peltzer Winery, located at 40275 Calle Contento, is gorgeous with wisteria blooms and offers one of the prettiest backdrops for photos. This is a popular outing spot for Temecula locals.

7. At Lorimar Winery, located at 39990 Anza Road, the outdoors is bursting with blooms, from flowering ornamental pear trees to fully blooming vines covering shady pergolas.

8. Temecula Carriage Company, at 40001 Berenda Road, offers horse-drawn carriage rides through the vineyards and the wisteria blooms. "This is a charming and romantic way to explore the beauty of Temecula Valley." Advanced reservations recommended.

9. Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Public Library, located at 30600 Pauba Road, offers wisteria that drapes over its outdoor path from the parking lot to the main entrance. "These pergolas offer a charming display each spring" for families heading to check out a book or take a class inside the library building.
