Local Students Win History Contest
The assignment had students make art projects illustrating Temecula's past.
Winners were announced in Temecula’s third grade history contest.
Sophia Schroll of Crown Hill Elementary won first place, Jake Garret and Weston Mayfield from Paloma Elementary tied for second and Kira Holgren and Kyle Gally of Paloma Elementary tied for third.
The assignment had students in the Temecula Valley Unified School District make art projects that illustrated local history.

More than 230 students entered the contest, and the winners went on display for a few days at the Temecula Valley History Center on Temecula Parkway.
