Youth Orchestra To Hold Auditions

The group is calling all youth orchestral musicians to strut their stuff.

Auditions for a youth orchestra are coming to Chaparral High School.

The Bravura Youth Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to audition mucisians who want to become members during the orchestra’s first rehearsal of the season. The auditions will take place August 15 from 6 to 8:30 pm in the Chaparral High School Band Room.

Musicians ranging from middle school through college who play an orchestral instrument from the string, woodwind, brass and percussion sections are eligible to audition.

The musician should be prepared to play scales, sight-read and play a short part of a prepared piece to show both their musicianship and technique.

The orchestra, under the direction of Don Marino, completed a Pops Concert and a performance at Knott’s Berry Farm in June.

The orchestra will be performing at the Temecula Film and Music Festival in September as well as concerts this fall, Marti Treckman, a spokesperson for the orchestra stated.
