TRABUCO CANYON, CA — A fan-created, Haunted Mansion–inspired home haunt is transforming a Trabuco Canyon residence into a scarier, more immersive walkthrough on select nights in October, organizers said. Due to neighborhood restrictions, reservations are required and are expected to fill quickly.
The experience runs from 7 to 9 p.m. on listed dates. Guests can expect appearances by fan-favorite characters, detailed sets, jumping animatronics and live scare actors, including veterans of theme park haunts. Organizers said the experience is geared for teens and adults, while actors take a lighter approach on certain nights for families with younger children.
Two ticket options are available: a Doombuggy Express priority-access ticket for $10 per person and a free stand-by option with longer waits. Crowds are typically heaviest from 7 to 8 p.m., and arriving after 8 p.m. may make parking and wait times easier.
Scare levels vary by night. Monday through Thursday (Oct. 19–22 and 26–29) do not feature live scare actors and are recommended for more sensitive children, though dark spaces, sound effects and animatronics remain. Fridays, Saturdays and Halloween night feature the full scare crew and are geared toward teens and adults. Sundays offer a balanced experience for most ages.
Free candy will be handed out at the exit on Halloween night while supplies last. Dates, reservations and any updates are listed on the event's website.
