Unlike traditional races with a fixed distance, Live Oak Odyssey challenges participants to complete as many full loops as possible within their selected time limit. Runners can choose their pace and take breaks between loops.
The course features approximately 500 feet of elevation gain per loop, with a combination of single-track trails, wider dirt paths, climbs and descents.

Beginning at the park's start-finish area, runners will follow the Arroyo Trabuco Trail before connecting to Live Oak Trail, Coyote Canyon Trail and Coyote Trail.
All three races will begin at 8 a.m., with the eight-hour event continuing until approximately 4 p.m.
Race-day bib pickup will take place from 7 to 7:55 a.m. at the starting area.
Registration is available online through UltraSignup, with current entry fees listed at $95 for the three-hour race, $110 for the six-hour race and $120 for the eight-hour race, before taxes and processing fees.
Prices are scheduled to increase after Nov. 8. Registration may also be available during packet pickup if spots remain, according to organizers.
Participants will receive race amenities including a race shirt, chip-timed results, aid station support, post-race food and a finisher award.
A staffed aid station will be available at the start-finish area, allowing runners to refuel after each loop. Organizers will provide water, electrolyte drinks, fruit, snacks and other refreshments.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each timed event.
The race will take place at O'Neill Regional Park, 30892 Trabuco Canyon Road.
Parking costs $5 per vehicle, and organizers ask participants to bring exact change. OC Parks annual passes will not be accepted for the event.
Volunteers are also needed to assist with race operations. Those who volunteer may receive Aravaipa race credits and event merchandise.
Regular park visitors should expect to encounter runners along portions of the Arroyo Trabuco, Live Oak, Coyote Canyon and Coyote trails throughout the day.
