1 Dead in I-880 Crash in Hayward
The CHP reports that another person was taken to the hospital for treatment.
HAYWARD, CA - One person is dead after a crash early this morning on Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A CHP officer said a single vehicle crash was reported on the southbound lanes at the Jackson Street offramp at 12:07 a.m.
According to the CHP, officers arrived to find the crash was blocking the offramp and two or more people were inside the vehicle suffering from injuries.

One person was transported to a local hospital, however the extent of their injuries was unknown.
Additionally, the name of the person who died will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.
