The City of Union City has advertised for a Chief Building Official. Depending on experience, starting pay is up to $180,996 per year.

According to the posting, " the Chief Building Official position is a management position that administers plan check duties, provides building inspections, and functions as Neighborhood Preservation Manager and trains and supervises assigned staff performing those functions; provides expert professional and technical assistance to departmental staff in assigned areas of responsibility; performs related work as required."
