19-Year-Old Tri-City Man Killed in Crash Tuesday
The other driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation.

FREMONT, CA- A 19-year-old man was killed in a crash in Fremont on Tuesday night, police said today. The crash was reported at 10:55 p.m. near the intersection of Dumbarton Circle and Ardentech Court, an area dominated by office complexes for technology companies not far from the Dumbarton Bridge.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, each driven by a solo male driver, police said. One of the drivers was trapped and needed to be extricated before he was taken to a hospital. Despite being rushed to surgery, he later died.
The Alameda County coroner’s bureau has identified him as Andrew Ballantyne of Fremont. The other driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash. Police are still investigating to determine its cause.
