2 Dogs Rescued From Union City House Fire

Construction work was being done at the home, according to the fire department.

UNION CITY, CA — Two dogs had to be rescued from a fire in Union City Thursday morning. Their humans weren't home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.

Alameda County firefighters received the call at 11:02 a.m. in the 1200 block of F Street.

The 1-alarm fire started on the second floor and extended to the attic. According to firefighters, "Vertical ventilation was needed and assisted in a quick knock down."
