2 Union City Students Receive $1,000 Scholarships
Both students hope to go into law enforcement.
UNION CITY, CA — Graduation is moving forward for James Logan High School, and affording college will be easier for two students who received scholarships from the Union City Police Officer’s Association.
Brooke Thayer and Alondra Venegas Martinez each earned $1,000 scholarships through the James Logan High School Law Enforcement & Homeland Security course.
The class is taught by UCPOA members Sgt. Brandon Hayward, Detective Angela Fonseca, and Public Service Officer Luis Escamilla.

Past students have gone on to work for UCPD and other Bay Area law enforcement agencies.
Brooke and Alondra donated hundreds of volunteer hours to worthy causes and they both aspire to work in law enforcement in the future.

The UCPOA scholarship is funded by members of the association.
