BART Releases Photos Of Gunman Who Robbed Woman Aboard Train

The suspect had "a black semi-automatic handgun," according to the police report.

HAYWARD, CA — A woman was robbed at gunpoint aboard a BART train Monday morning, according to BART police.

Reported at 9:32 a.m., the broad daylight robbery happened between the Hayward and South Hayward stations aboard a Fremont-bound train.

Police report that the woman was riding the train when the suspect approached her, brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and stole her purse.

A witness told police that the suspect exited the train at the South Hayward Station. A search of the area was unsuccessful.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old. He was wearing a black beanie-style hat, a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
