Bernie Sanders Making Multiple Stops Today, Wednesday In Bay Area

BAY AREA, CA - Democratic presidential candidate and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is making his rounds in and around the Bay Area with multiple stops today and Wednesday, according to officials with his campaign.

Sanders spoke at a 10 a.m. news conference in Emeryville, where he addressed members of National Nurses United, the country's largest nurses union. The union has endorsed him for president.

He will then attend an afternoon rally at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, where police are expecting large crowds and advising the public to avoid the area for most of the day.

Monterey is preparing for a Sanders rally this evening at the Colton Hall Lawn with earlier closures than usual for city offices in the area. Sanders has a packed schedule on Wednesday that starts with a morning news conference on fracking in Spreckels, an unincorporated Monterey County community.

He will then head to Palo Alto on Wednesday afternoon for a panel discussion with Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, followed by a rally.

The Vermont senator also made appearances Monday in Oakland at City Hall, Allen Temple Baptist Church and Oracle Arena, where he watched the Golden State Warriors advance to the NBA Finals with a 96-88 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
