Big-Rig Fire Closes Northbound I-880 On-Ramp in Hayward

A big-rig that caught fire shut down a northbound Interstate Highway 880 onramp in Hayward this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The vehicle fire was first reported at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday night at the Whipple Road onramp, CHP officials said.

The northbound onramp was still closed as of 11:47 p.m., according to CHP officials. No injuries have been reported.
