Chabot-Las Positas Community College Appoints Trustee
Genevieve Randolph of Union City will replace Dr. Arnulfo Cedillo, who retired in June.
From Chabot-Las Positas Community College District: The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Board of Trustees has appointed a new member from Trustee Area 3, which includes South Hayward and Union City.
Genevieve Randolph of Union City will replace Dr. Arnulfo Cedillo, who retired in June, as an appointed member of the Board until the next regularly scheduled election for governing board members in November 2018.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of Chabot College in Hayward and Las Positas College in Livermore.

A long-time Bay Area k-12 educator, Genevieve Randolph serves as the assistant superintendent of human resources and administrative services for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. She has also served as a k-5 principal in both the Fremont Unified School District and the San Mateo-Foster City School District.
"We had three excellent candidates who are devoted to their community and we thank them for their interest in serving the District," said Dr. Hal Gin, president of the Board of Trustees. "We are pleased with the selection of Ms. Randolph, as her extensive experience in education and knowledge of the community will be a great addition to our Board and the District."
Ms. Randolph will fulfill the responsibilities of a Trustee, including attending all board meetings and some college events, studying agendas and issues and participating fully in the governance of the District.

Randolph was appointed following a process that included a review of applications and interviews with the current Board. She will be sworn in and begin service at the regularly scheduled board meeting on August 15, 2017.
