The checkpoint will take place between 8 p.m. and midnight on Thursday. The location of the checkpoint has not yet been released.

On Thursday, September 4, 2014, the Hayward Area of the California Highway Patrol will be conducting a driver license/sobriety checkpoint in the city of Hayward, county of Alameda, from 8:00 P.M. to midnight.

The checkpoint will be clearly marked and placed on a roadway with an established DUI problem or concern. A key objective of the checkpoint is to reduce the number of drinking drivers on the road, rather than produce a dramatic increase of arrests.
