Convicted Felon With Gun Arrested In Union City: Police

It happened near the Union Landing shopping center, according to police.

UNION CITY, CA — A loaded gun was seized from a convicted felon in Union City, who was arrested over the weekend, according to the police department.

The arrest started as a traffic stop in the area of Dyer Street and Courthouse Drive near the Union Landing Shopping Center by K9 Officer Andrew Moya.

According to a report from police, "The driver was defiant and displayed objective symptoms of narcotics use."

The driver ultimately got out of the vehicle, after admitting that he had a gun hidden under the driver’s seat.

The driver was safely taken into custody and the gun was recovered from the spot that was disclosed.

"The driver was determined to be a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing guns and was arrested for the firearms charges," police said in the report to the community.
