A 15-year-old girl remains missing after leaving a note and running away from her Hayward home on Monday evening, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. Daphne Romero left her home at about 7:45 p.m., leaving a note saying that she was going to live with her boyfriend “Jimmy,” but her family and friends do not know who Jimmy could be, sheriff’s officials said.

She called her family the next day to ask that they stop contacting her friends, but otherwise her family hasn’t heard from her. She remains active on social media, according to the sheriff’s office. Daphne is described as Hispanic, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair. She frequently hangs out in downtown Hayward and at San Felipe Park, sheriff’s officials said.

Anyone who sees Daphne or knows where she might be has been asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (510) 667-7721.
