Elderly Union City Man Hit By Truck

UNION CITY - A man killed in a collision with a truck today in Union City was identified by the Alameda County coroner as 83-year-old Jose Ceballos.

Officers responded at 10:40 a.m. to the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Lafayette Avenue where the collision occurred.

Police said Ceballos, a Union City resident, was crossing the street when a box truck hit him.

Officers found Ceballos unconscious. He appeared to have significant injuries.

Police said Ceballos was taken to Eden Medical Center where he died.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers.
