UPDATED: Elementary School in Union City on Precautionary Lockdown While Police Search for Suspect
Police say Kitayama Elementary School was on lockdown for safety precautions only.

UPDATE 1:10 P.M.:
Union City police say that the police activity in the area has subsided. They issued the following alert via Nixle:
The Police activity on Medallion Dr., Claremont St. and Sheffield Ln. has now ended. Residences in the area can now resume normal activity.

Union City Police have released the following information via Nixle Alerts:
Police are searching area for suspect. We are asking that people stay in their homes. We are asking that people please stay inside their homes.
The suspect we are looking for is described as:
Black Male
Late teens to early 20’s
Last seen wearing a Green jumpsuit with a bright Yellow shirt
And was last seen running from the 2400 block of Medallion Dr.
Kitayama Elementary School is on Lock Down for Safety Precautions ONLY, it is not believed that the suspect is on campus.
