Main Stage Youth Theatre in Union City!

Does your child have dreams of performing on a big stage?  Perhaps you want to build your child’s confidence when speaking in front of a group of people?  Either way, this fun-filled workshop will be perfect for him/her!  Instructed by a credentialed Union City teacher, students will build vocal skills by using volume and inflection in their voice, and learn how to move their bodies on stage.  Students will also perform skits, play games, and have an all-around good time.  The exciting part is, this workshop  will be held entirely at the brand new James Logan Performing Arts Center allowing your child to perform on the “big stage” everyday!  The week will end with a “Young Actors’ Showcase,” a performance where family and friend will get to come to theater to see what the kids have been working on.

Instructor James Malone is a fourth-grade teacher at Pioneer Elementary School in  Union City at which he has taught for  the past 10 years.  Before his life as a teacher, he spent a great deal of his life on stage.  He performed in countless productions at his alma mater, Cal State East Bay.  He has also acted on stage in San Francisco and around the world.  Mr. Malone has incorporated his love of theater into this teaching, as he has directed many pays with this classroom students, as well as put on school-wide productions.  With this theater program for kids Mr. Malone hopes to give all Union city children the opportunity to build confidence in themselves while falling in love with acting.

Students need to bring lunch, snacks and beverages for each day.
