UCYSL/UC PREMIER FALL SEASON OPENING DAY!
The 2011 UCYSL/UC Premier Fall Season Opening Day will take place Saturday September 10 at James Logan High School. Opening Day is a long time tradition in Union City soccer that dates back more than 35 years.
The UCYSL/UC Premier Opening Day has evolved into a fun filled all day event, which includes a ceremonial team parade, official "first kick" ceremony, team and player pictures, fundraising food booths and of course soccer matches!
This Fall season we have put forth a great effort to schedule both competitive and recreational matches to begin after 10:00am, giving all teams in both the recreational and competitive programs opportunity to participate and enjoy in this fun filled family event.
OPENING DAY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
7:30am: All teams arrive and are organized in designated team area.
8:00am: National Anthem
8:05am: Designated parent reads "Parents Pledge" and Designated Coach reads "Coach Pledge" Designated Player reads " Player Pledge"
8:15am: Parade begins
9:15am: Parade ends
9:30am: Inaugural First Kick with City and School officials and youngest/oldest UCYSL players.
10:00am- 3:00pm: Team pictures
10:30am- 4:00pm: Soccer matches
10:00am- 3:00pm: Fundraising booths
OPENING DAY PARADE
We cordially ask that all UCYSL and UC Premier teams arrive at James Logan High School at 7:30am with UCYSL & UC Premier apparel and a team banner (if available).
Participating in the parade is expected to be more than 500 recreational players that make up 46 UCYSL teams and approximately 480 competitive players that make up 27 UC Premier competitive teams.
