Female Pedestrian Dead Following Suspected DUI Crash
Police arrested a 33-year-old Union City man on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Update:
A Union City man was arrested Monday night on suspicion of drunk driving after he struck and killed a woman in Fremont, according to police. Aaron Peters, 33, was arrested and booked after the collision on Fremont Boulevard and Nicolet Avenue, which was reported at 8:48 p.m., according to police.
A 35-year-old woman was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk in front of the Brookvale Shopping Center at 35754 Fremont Blvd. when she was struck by a Chrysler Sebring, according to police. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her identity has not yet been released by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau. Peters, the driver of the Chrysler, remained at the scene after the collision. Officers arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked him into Fremont Jail, police said. Bail was set at $75,000 and Peters was scheduled to be arraigned at the Fremont Hall of Justice this afternoon, according to county jail records.

A car driven by a suspected drunk driver fatally struck a pedestrian Monday night in Fremont, a police spokeswoman said. At 8:48 p.m., police received a call reporting a collision involving a pedestrian in front of the Brookvale Shopping Center located at 35754 Fremont Blvd., according to Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.
Officers arrived and learned a Chrysler Sebring driven by a 33-year-old Union City man struck a 35-year-old female pedestrian, Bosques said. Officers determined the pedestrian was walking outside of the crosswalk at Fremont Boulevard and Nicolet Avenue, according to Bosques.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers determined the male driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence, Bosque said. His name was not immediately released.
