Fire Briefly Threatened Homes On Union City-Fremont Border

Firefighters from both cities responded to put out the flames.

UNION CITY, CA — A grass fire broke along the train tracks on the Union City and Fremont border Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters from both Alameda County and Fremont responded and worked together to get the flames out.

Although it only burned about an acre, the fire threatened homes for a short time, near the train tracks at Hanford Street in Union City and Sedge Street in Fremont.

No injuries were reported, and no homes were damaged.
