
UNION CITY, CA — A small fire on the side of northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Union City was aggressively tackled by firefighters from three agencies, according to the Alameda County Fire Department. They quickly had the flames out and went into mop-up mode.
The fire happened at the Alvarado Niles Road off-ramp, near the Crowne Plaza, around the noon hour on Wednesday.
Firefighters from Alameda County, Fremont and Hayward all responded.

No injuries were reported. At least one vehicle was damaged.
