Former Uber Driver Arrested For Alleged Sexual Assault

Police say the victim was picked up in San Francisco and driven to Union City.

UNION CITY, CA — A former Uber driver has been arrested for alleged false imprisonment, kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual battery and making criminal threats. Kevin Barillas-Saballos was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Union City Police report that 30-year-old Barillas-Saballos was employed by Uber as a driver but not working when he "picked up a female in San Francisco and transported her to Union City. During the transport, the driver sexually assaulted the victim who was intoxicated." The incident happened on July 14.

Union City Police Detectives identified Barillas-Saballos of San Francisco as the suspect. After getting an arrest warrant, he was picked up at his workplace in South San Francisco on Aug. 14.
