Hayward Mother Suspected of Impaired Driving with Child in Car Arrested Following Crash in Newark

A mother was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after her 4-year-old son was injured in a car crash in Newark on Sunday, police said.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. Sunday on Central Avenue. One of the drivers was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs and had her 4-year-old son in the car, police said.

The child was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. His mother, identified as Amanda Landeros, 27, of Hayward, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment, police said.
