High School Football Recap

Here is a recap of the local high school football games.

James Logan 64  Irvington 0

James Logan High crushed Irvington High, 64-0, to preserve its perfect record.

The Colts led 15-0 in the first quarter before cruising to victory.

Logan High is now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in league play.  They've outscored their opponents, 196-7, in the past three games.

Irvington is 4-3 overall and 2-2 in league play.

Castro Valley 41  Arroyo 14

Castro Valley High surprised Arroyo High by easily defeating their visiting rival, 41-14.

The Trojans led 21-8 at the end of the second quarter before putting the game away with a strong second half.

Castro Valley is 2-4 overall and 2-2 in league play. It was the Trojans second straight win.

Arroyo is now 3-3 overall and 2-2 in league play.

Tennyson 31  San Lorenzo 7

Tennyson High coasted by winless San Lorenzo High, 31-7.

San Lorenzo is now 0-7 overall and 0-4 in league play.

Tennyson bounced back from their loss last week to Bishop O'Dowd. The Lancers are now 6-1 overall and 3-1 in league play.

San Leandro 49  Hayward 28

San Leandro High played a strong second half to defeat Hayward High, 49-28.

The Pirates led 27-22 at halftime, then shut down Hayward as they cruised to victory.

San Leandro is now 4-3 overall and 3-1 in league play. They have now won three straight.

Hayward is 3-4 overall and 2-2 in league play.

Newark Memorial High visits Fremont Saturday evening to take on American High.
